Education

An important component in the life of every congregation is the ministry of education. St. Paul's offers a variety of opportunities for children and adults. Everyone is encouraged to participate.

Sunday School

Sunday School is offered from early September (Rally Day) through May for all children, ages 4 through 6th grade. Confirmation students participate in an Internet experience connected to the confirmation curriculum. Sunday School classes generally begin between and  and last until about . Roni Brock serves as Sunday School Superintendent. This year, she is assisted by Carissa Conine and Loretta Brockmeier with Sara Grabowski as a substitute.

Confirmation Class

Confirmation at St. Paul's is a two year component for seventh and eighth grade boys and girls. Classes are usually held weekly from September through May. Students are expected to attend worship on Sunday and take part in an Internet Experience geared to the lesson material. Separate arrangments for confirmation instruction can be made in consultation with the Pastor for older students or others with special needs.

Confirmation occurs in the fall following two years of instruction. Confirmands are expected to have an interview with Pastor Dorau before Confirmation Sunday which reviews the two year experience. The Rite of Confirmation in 2011 is scheduled for Reformation Sunday, October 30th.

Please contact Pastor Dorau or the church office if your child is interested.

Teenage Ministry

The churches of the Random Lake Area cooperate in encouraging High School and Middle School students to participate in events together. Sponsoring churches include St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, St. John's UCC, New Horizons UCC, Zion United Methodist Church, and St. Martin's UCC.

St. Paul's teenagers are planning for the next ELCA Youth Gathering, which will take place in New Orleans in July 2012. The Gathering happens every three years, and brings together more than 30,000 young people to learn about their faith, to celebrate, and to work on projects in communities of the host city.
